Limenis Technology

Limenis is not a software firm entering ports. It is port managers founding a software firm.

We didn't study ports. We ran them.

A team that came up through container and multipurpose terminals, building the product it wished it had.

About us

Not around ports. Inside them, for 18 years.

Limenis Technology was founded by a team that has spent 18 years inside port operations — not around them. Most of those years were spent abroad, leading IT departments at container and multipurpose terminals as IT Directors, IT Managers, system architects and project leads. We have run gates at 3 a.m. during a vessel peak, negotiated with customs when a system went down, migrated terminal operating systems without stopping a single crane, and led digital transformation programmes from paper-based gates to fully automated lanes.

  • IT Director
  • IT Manager
  • System architect
  • Project lead

From those years

  • Running the gate at 3 a.m. during a vessel peak
  • At the table with customs when the system went down
  • Moving a TOS without stopping a single crane
  • From paper gates to fully automated lanes

What a port needs

We know what a port needs because we have been accountable for it: uptime that doesn't depend on a perfect internet connection, integrations that respect the TOS as the single source of truth, and tools that gate clerks, planners, hauliers and customs officers actually use.

  • Working without a perfect connection
  • The TOS as the single source of truth
  • Tools people on the ground really use

From the field to the product

Limenis PreGate is the product we wished we had in those years. Slot optimisation, queueing models and the Traffic Control Engine were developed together with university academic staff, and our field experience was turned into tested mathematical models and algorithms.

What we hold to

Operations come first

A feature that slows the lane does not ship.

The TOS is the single source of truth

We build around it; we do not compete with it.

Transparent data, transparent numbers

Measured and assumed are never mixed; a target is labelled as one.

Plan for failure

Links and devices fail. We design what the lane does then, and what it must refuse to do.

The mathematics we are building on

These are the methods developed for slot and call decisions.

  • Queueing theoryHow long trucks wait in the park and at the gate, and how many lanes keep P90 under the threshold.
  • Mixed-integer optimisationHow many bookings each slot takes, given gate, lane, job type and yard constraints.
  • Stochastic arrival predictionWhen a booked truck will really arrive, from live traffic and its history.
  • Machine learningQuota and turnaround forecasts learned from the port's own data.

Deployment and security

Resilient field architecture

On your servers

PreGate installs on the port's own servers; private cloud and hybrid are options. Data stays where you decide.

Signed licences, offline

Licences are signed and checked once a day; the gate keeps working between check-ins without a connection.

Role-based access

Terminal, haulier, agent, customs and clerk roles each see only their own scope.

Append-only audit trail

Every decision is recorded with who, when and why; nothing is edited or deleted.

Encrypted links

TLS for the web; VPN/IPsec for links to TOS, customs and PMIS are agreed per site.

KVKK and GDPR

Personal data of drivers and hauliers stays in the location the port chooses; KVKK and GDPR duties are worked out for each installation.

Offices

Offices

  • TürkiyeKOU Technopark, Limenis R&D Centre. Product, AI and algorithm R&D.
  • LondonSales and business development, Europe.

Addresses are published when each office opens; until then we list city and country.

Next step

Make your port's flow
measurable.

For a pilot scope we need daily and peak trucks, number of gates, park capacity, transaction types and TOS version.
